As responsible accountable companies, the diamond dealers presents on the Woodeex platform adhere to the Kimberley agreements and to the "System of Warranties". Therefore, the diamonds sold on Woodeex are guaranteed "conflict free".
For many years, the international community has been concerned by the potential link between rough diamond trade and the financing of armed conflict in certain African countries.
Created in 2003 by the diamond industry and ratified by the United Nations, Kimberley Process is an international certification to help put an end to "conflict diamonds".
The "System of Warranties" is complementary to the Kimberley Process since it not only applies to rough diamonds but also to polished diamonds. This means that every invoice must feature a statement guaranteeing that the diamond is "Conflict Free", in other words that it comes from a legitimate source that is not involved in financing armed conflict.

There are 29 diamond exchanges in the world. They are grouped together in the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. The mission of this federation is to define the rules and practices within the various diamond exchanges as well as topromote the diamond internationally.
Diamond mining and extraction are carried out in the mines distributed in Africa, Russia or still in Australia, but the diamonds are shipped and marketed in the various diamond exchanges of the world.
The four most important diamond exchanges which concentrate nearly all the world trade between professionals are located in Antwerp, Ramat-Gan, New York, and Mumbai.
The transactions are carried out in keeping with tradition. The deals are uniquely concluded orally, simply by a handshake.
The rules and traditions governing the diamond exchanges are very strict. They have an in house judicial system to settle the disputes between diamond dealers and to protect the interests of all the players of the sector.
The procedure for acceptance as a member of any of these diamond exchanges is very selective, for obvious security reasons. This acceptance is granted conditionally only to professionals.

There are four criteria defined by international rules that determine the quality of a diamond around the world.
They are defined as the "4C’s": Carat, Color, Clarity and Cut.

Diamond Quality
The carat is the unit of measurement of a diamond’s weight. One carat corresponds to 0.20 grams. The origin of this measurement is probably the carob seed
which has been used as a measurement unit since Antiquity. The diamond industry utilizes electronic balances now to weigh the diamonds.

The color of a diamond is evaluated on a color scale from D (colorless or exceptional white) to Z (light yellow). The whiter a diamond, the rarer it is. There are also so-called colored diamonds (yellow, pink, blue, orange, etc.). These diamonds are not part of this classification.
The clarity of a diamond is determined by the number and size of its inclusions and their position. The clarity scale features grades ranging from IF (no inclusions when magnified 10x) to P3 (many inclusions visible to the naked eye).
The cut of a diamond reveals its beauty. In other words, compliance with cutting criteria ensures the diamond optimum brilliance regardless of its shape (round, pear, emerald cut, marquise, cushion, heart, oval, etc.). The cut criteria are not related to size but to proportions, finish, and polish. If the diamond has an excellent cut, it will reflect light from one facet to the other and benefit from optimal brilliance.
All the diamonds present on Woodeex are certified by reputed and respected gemological laboratories recognized by the diamond industry. All Woodeex loose diamonds have been analyzed and graded by the The most well-known grading laboratories as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the American Gem Society (AGS), the Hoge Raad voor Diamond (HRD) and the International Gemological Institute (IGI).
A gemological certificate is the ID card of a diamond. This certificate, established by a team of gemologists in a laboratory, confirms the real quality of the diamond and states all its criteria.
When buying a diamond, the certificate is an essential document protecting you against hidden flaws and allowing the accurate determination of its value.

The color of all the fancy color diamonds present on the Woodeex platform is natural, without any artificial modification by irradiation or technical treatment.
A fancy color diamond whose color is natural is rare by nature. Only one in 10,000 diamonds has a natural color. That is why the purchase of a colored diamond obeys criteria different from those for a colorless diamond.
Thus, even if the criteria related to the proportion of the cut or to the clarity remain important, the selection criteria are mainly based on the choice of the color and of the intensity. The more intense the color, the more precious is the diamond.
